CONTROLS  UPDATE FOR OCULUS QUEST:

The game was originally built for the Oculus Go and now fully tested on the QUEST!

If you own a Virtual Reality headset  Oculus QUEST / GO:

You can install the .APK version onto the Oculus QUEST / GO via sideloading. For most people, the easiest way to do this is to install via SideQuest. After configuring your QUEST / GO for developer mode, and installing/setting up Sidequest on your desktop, you can then just drag and drop the APK into SideQuest in the area in the top left corner.

Launch  CYCLOPS STAIRS  on the QUEST / GO by navigating to the Library, selecting the Unknown Sources category on the left, look for "CyclopsStairs" on the right, and run it.

You can watch  a great tutorial video by Virtual Reality Oasis and Cas and Chary VR

Great atmosphere, but movement controls feel unnatural on Quest. It'd be great if it had "teleportation" mode for movement.

Hi ,Thanks! Hope you enjoyed all three levels :)

This game was made on an old version of Unity, at the time Oculus Go was the main mobile headset.

For the next game I am working on,  "Dimensional Traveler 2" , the controls will be teleportation for Quest as the main headset.

that's great, I'll be waiting :)

It never worked on my Oculus Go. Well it lanched and I could move around and climb things, but there was absolutely no narration and no interaction with the surroundings at all.

Hi,

do you tested the game on the GO? The game mechanics is simple, it has simple puzzles and is more like a walk / look around / exploration game , not an action game or pressure of any kind. Almost all Star Palm Games games are strong in the exploration factor with a small story told in the environments, not explicit in words or voice acting.
Hope you understand our style.
Thanks and regards,
Carlos

I've played a few exploration games so I know about that genre, but in this case, there was litteraly nothing happening after tenths of minutes of me walking around : no change in music, no change of scenery, no door oppening, no narration voice or written or illustrated throught the landscape ; truly nothing.

So I geniunely believe that the game wasn't working on my device. I mean nothing more by it.

Yet. It was a bit frustrating because of the long loading times and sideloading work.

I wouldn't complain about a free game of course.

Hi,

there are some platforms on the floor you have to find, they are hidden in the ruins (search for it on top of the columns, stairs.. it will open doors to next levels. There are three levels with variations on everything, sky, colors, music, mood, story.. the game becomes more interesting as you find the small platforms with an "eye" icon on it to open many doors...

Thanks!

Maybe I'll give the game another try later. So it really didn't work on my device, after all.

Because I remember that I found a door with an eye on my first play, and it looked like it would do something, but when I went in, nothing happened.

After you find and step over the little square platform with an Eye symbol, the main door (opposite to the big entrance door) will open with an arrow. So you will be transported to level 2 (purple colors, towers, pyramids, etc.)

About the lag  loading on the GO, it's strange.. because I am having very positive reviews and the game is super optimized for mobile VR. No more then 10 seconds of loading the entire level...

I know, the positive feedback and the minimalist graphics were precisely the reason I bought it.

Hello,

I tested again the Oculus Go version, it works fine.
Are you sure you have done all the steps using SideQuest app? After sideloading the APK, you have to navigate to your Library - Unknow Sources.

man, devs like this deserve more credit. this is really cool

Hi, thanks very much my friend!

Why not release the add the game to Sidequest? A lot of people search for their games there instead of itch.io
